No More Posts Here :(

For the past long while, I have been managing two blogs. This one here and another one at Wordpress. I post the same things here as I do there. I like Wordpress better and so I am going to just continue posting there and not here anymore. I just posted today. You can follow me or check out my blog at any one of these links since I won't be posting here anymore:

7 Billion Lessons

Sometimes I just stop for a second and think about how many people there are in the world today. Apparently we just passed the 7,000,000,000 mark. That's a lot of people! What are they all doing? Are they just going about day-to-day like me? Are they just trying to be happy just like I am? I assume that they are. I mean, we are all just trying to be happy, right? That's one of the reasons why we're here.

How amazing would it be to just sit down and talk to every person on the planet? A one-on-one conversation with everyone. I personally think that would be amazing! I think I could learn a lot from every single person on the planet. You all have had your own unique experiences in life and to be able to connect with you on a personal level would just be an incredible experience. I believe that every person can teach you something. It doesn't matter if they are a child or if they are uneducated. They can teach you something! I have learned a lot from strangers just by people-watching. We all have something to give. We are all examples to those around us by the way we treat others and by the way we live.

I most likely will never get the chance to learn 7 billion lessons (one from every person on the planet). However, I can learn as much as possible from those I do come in contact with, even if it is just a small lesson. I hope that as I continue to learn from others of how to be a better person that I can also be an example of how a true human being should act and treat others.

We all form relationships. It starts with our family. We begin life with these important people and whether we like it or not, they help mold and shape who we will become. Each of us come from different families and backgrounds with and have different life experiences, which is why we are all unique and different.

As we get older, we branch out and start making friends. Friendships are very important. Friends are different than family members, they are usually around our same age and are going through a similar time of their life as we are. We trust our closest friends...even with personal information and secrets.

Eventually, many people choose someone to exclusively spend their life with and start their own family. This person is usually their best friend. This can become one of the most important and strongest relationships ever formed in one's life.

Along the way, we also meet neighbors, co-workers, friends of friends, acquaintances, and even complete strangers. We may not form solid relationships with these people; however, they still have an affect on our lives. Not only do we learn from our closest relationships, we also learn by observing others that we may or may not even know personally.

There is always so much going on in our fast-paced lives. There are so many things that can steal our time if we let it. Don't let media, politics, entertainment, work, school, hobbies, etc. cause you to forget the importance of people.

There is nothing more important than the relationships you will form here in this life. Family is more important... Friends are more important... People are more important... than anything!

Money = Paper

Money is paper. That's all it is. However, we need this "paper" so that we can pay for the things that we need. Paper pays for a place to live, food to eat, transportation, and the things we like. The reason paper can do this is because we say it can. We define that certain pieces of paper are worth more than other pieces of paper. But it is still just paper. There are more important things in life than paper and if we go after those things and continue to try our best, somehow we will always have just enough paper to keep us alive.

Money will come and go, but you only have one chance at experiencing life. Live it! Love it! And don't waste it constantly worrying about paper.

One Life

We all get just one chance. What are we doing with this valuable gift? Are we becoming who we truly want to become? Are we achieving our dreams, fulfilling our desires, and chasing our passions?

These questions have been on my mind lately. I am currently in the process of making adjustments in my life to start becoming who I truly want to become. I feel like I have been just going through the motions of life and not really living it. I have been stuck in the routine and not really experiencing life to its fullest.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” -Steve Jobs

I think I have been living the life that society and culture has told me I should live, not the life I necessarily want to live. I am trying to care less about what other people think about me; however, at times I have let the 'noise of other's opinions drown out [my] own inner voice'. I am finding the courage to follow my heart and intuition and just be me.

When my life is all said and done, I would hate to look back and see that I put everything else before my dreams, desires, and passions. I refuse to let my dreams become secondary in my life. I believe that if you follow your heart and intuition while chasing your dreams, you will experience life to its fullest. I also believe that you will have no regrets and will be able to say with 100% surety that you were as happy as you possibly could be.

“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” -Whole Earth Catalog (1974)

What do you want out of life? What do you want to become? What do you want to achieve? Whatever it is, you can. Some of the greatest people who have ever lived on this Earth have achieved what has seemed like 'the impossible'. You have greatness inside of you. You have the potential of making the impossible, possible. You are no different than any other human being who has ever lived. If you believe it, you can achieve it. But remember, once you believe it, don't fear it, chase it. And once you achieve it, stay hungry...stay foolish.

Download FREE Christmas Music

Since I recently posted on the topic of music, I thought I should share this awesome compilation album of Christmas songs. It is an amazing group of songs to add to your collection. Also, they are absolutely FREE to download. You can listen to them below or click the download button to get them for free. They are asking for donations, so you can name your own price. Support them if you can, even if it is just $1. If not, enjoy the music for $0. I am so grateful for people who spend the time to make music that inspires me.

Also, thanks Josh for telling me about this album :)

The Power of Music

There are certain songs that when I listen to them, they take my mind back to a specific event in my life. Somehow my brain has connected a specific event to the music that I was listening to at the time. Music can play a powerful role in your life, if you let it. It is more than just mere entertainment. Music can be inpiring, comforting, motivating, encouraging, and uplifting. It can encourage change, consistency, self-improvement, and give you that push to chase your dreams. Music is doing all of those things for me right now in my life. I have never fully understood the power that music had until now and I still don’t believe that I fully understand it yet, but I am learning.

Music is more than just combining sounds of multiple instruments. It’s more than the lyrics. Music is an experience. Whether you are participating in the creating of music or listening to music that artists have created—it is an experience.

I guess the question that I want to ask is: Are you experiencing music? Or are you merely listening to music? Are you allowing music have a profound impact on your life?

Music has played a powerful role in my life and is helping mold and shape who I am and where I am going and I am forever grateful for those many artists who create music that drives me to just be me.

My musical experience while writing this article:
1. Old Pine - Ben Howard
2. Head Full Of Doubt/Road Full Of Promise - The Avett Brothers
3. Hope Valley Hill - Helios
4. About Today - The National
5. The Girl - City and Colour
6. First Breath After Coma - Explosions in the Sky
